Mounting GPS on Camera
 
Platform area of 3.5cm x 6cm is about the optimum size to accommodate a selection of GPS, large and small. 
It can be a DIY  project but you are unlikely to obtain such material with such good finish at comparable price.
NCM1 is specially handcrafted in clear acrylic with velcro top.Velcro is used for simplicity and ease of operation Only a small piece of velcro is required for the back of GPSIt can also be placed on a bracket on the side

GND2 is an interface which allows you to connect various GPS with different GPS cables. If you are going to use only one GPS and have no intention of changing it, you can use non interchangeable interface (GNDGX for Foretrex 101 and GNDGE for Geko 201) making a neater and lighter set up:
Note: If you use D2X and like to include GPS compass data you should purchase GESGND as GNDGE is too short to connect GPS in the correct orientation on top of hotshoe. You can disregard this if you use D200.

With a small GPS like Foretrex or Geko, it sits quite securely on top of NCM1 with only velcro fixing without any chance of falling off even if you let the camera hang down from your neckstrap.
